How did the idea for Llax Consultancy Services come about? What is it about?
LCS is an investment management Company founded 5 years ago and is newly registered under the MCA (Ministry of Corporate Affairs).The concept of Hedge Funds was started in Europe and America back in the 1900’s where HNI’s (High Net-worth Individuals) would pool money and invest it further into leveraged securities. To get this concept to India was the need of the hour to benefit our nations investors.
How did you come up with the name for the company?
Llax is a proper noun term. The thought of this name came to our mind during a social event
What service(s) do you offer?
Our main aim is to invest public capital into various assets like equity, derivatives, real estate etc. through the services that we offer viz; Financial Advisory Services, Investment Consultancy, Wealth Management, PMS (Portfolio Management Service) and AIF (Alternative Investments Funds).
Where is Llax based out of? Why do you think that is the best place for you?
Our office is located in the capital of Goa, Panjim. We are on the 4th floor of Alfran Plaza, one of the oldest and finest business hubs in Panaji. According to us this place is the best for our business as we are an investment management company and our office building is full of successful businesses with successful entrepreneurs managing them, who usually turn out to be great potential investors. And also, networking with various businessmen is a wonderful experience at Alfran Plaza.
What was your mission at the outset?
The concept of managing assets was never a part of the Goan culture. It was always individuals doing it themselves. Investors often found themselves tangled in the complexities of the procedures. This had to change and hence, we came up with the concept of Llax Consultancy Services and in a span of 1 year we have accumulated an AUM (Assets Under Management) of more than ₹15 crores. (USD 2 million).
What factors make Llax a unique player in the market?
There are many Investment Management companies in Goa offering various services like MF Investments (Mutual Fund), Debt investments, PMS (Portfolio Management Services) etc. but according to client surveys, many of the customers have experienced earnings which are lower than bank rates or sometimes at par.
At Llax, assets are handled by a highly experienced team of more than 26 Years of combined experience formulating Hedging strategies allowing us to reap benefits of the upsides, as well as the downsides, applicable mainly for clients opting for AIF (Alternative Investment Fund). With respect to our PMS (Portfolio Management Service) generally for longer periods our clients experience an average CAGR of 12% – 15% annually.
How do you build a successful customer base? How do you gain the trust of your customers?
By providing our clients with steady returns every quarter irrespective of how the financial markets are moving, our clients’ initial capital is protected at all costs because of our hedging strategies and algos resulting in the formation of healthy client relationships.
Tell us about your team and how did you meet each other?
The directors of the Company, Jagdish Sardessai (MD and CEO) and Shirish Sardessai (Chairman) founded this Company and were managing it by themselves with the help of portfolio managers and accountants. Recently we’ve got on board experienced analysts to further step up our fundamental studies. Hamza Qazi works as our Senior Financial Analyst.
Tell us about yourself, your previous jobs/ventures? What were you doing before this startup?
From the field of Artist Management and Music Technology to a completely diverse field like Investment Management, my change was brought about due to growing interests in the field of investment banking. Today without possessing a Bachelors in the field of finance, I have managed to gather a vast experience in this sector with an exceptional track record over the last 3 years.
What gets you excited about this company?
Being one of the finest hedge Funds in India, what excites me the most is the feeling of providing a steady source of income filled with opportunities for investments which keep our clients at the top of this sector.
What are your responsibilities as the business owner?

These are the 3 things that a fund manager must never forget as his/ her responsibilities towards the clients. It takes a long time to develop a good reputation hence one should keep in mind not to undo the good brand image.
What’s coming up for your company down the road?
Our AUM projection for the next 5 years is 10 million dollars with a client base of the top 50 entrepreneurs of India. And when it comes to Goa we are expecting to manage more than 200 individual portfolios.
