Traditionally, Sushi contains vinegar rice accompanied by some seafood or a variety of vegetables. Although Sushi is associated with raw fish, it’s actually the specially cooked rice that adds the exotic element. Japanese chefs undergo long years of training to master the art of preparing rice just near to perfection. Depending on the Sushi roll we have different types of Sushis, primarily we have Nigiri, Maki, Uramaki, Temaki and Sashimi. In India, Japanese restaurants have adapted to the preferences of vegetarians and non-vegetarians, and interestingly the cuisine is getting a great response here.
These bite-sized treats are available in almost every Japanese restaurant. Especially in Goa, where fish and rice are staple food, Sushis are a cultural exchange for Goans with the Japanese. Right from Panaji to Mapusa to Candolim, here are some of the restaurants serving the best Sushis in the town.
